Veteran's Day, 2007. Never Forget,

Never Forget.
Remember today the Veterans. All of those who have served and serve now in the Military.
In particular today, I wish to honour my DH, Mike, and his Service to the US Navy (Beirut).
My uncles Gordon and Albert (US Army, Korea) and Charlie (US Navy, Viet Nam), cousin Steve (US Army, Viet Nam), and great-uncles Jim (US Army), JD (US Army Air Corp), Boyd, (USMC), Louis (US Navy), and Bob (Seabees) -- World War II.
All of those brave men came home.
And my deepest respect and thanks to those in my family who left to serve and never came home.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place;
and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing,
fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead.

Short days ago We lived,
felt dawn,
saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved,
and now we lie in Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands
we throw The torch;
be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep,
though poppies grow in Flanders fields.
~~ Lt. Colonel John McCrae, MD. (1872 - 1918)
